Coimbatore : Bharathiar University's Badminton Team of seven students created history by qualifying first time for the All India Inter University Badminton tournament which kick-started yesterday, at SRM University, Chennai.
Coimbatore : Bharathiar University's Badminton Team of seven students created history by qualifying first time for the All India Inter University Badminton tournament which kick-started yesterday, at SRM University, Chennai.
The team of seven students (three from Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science and four from PSG College of Arts and Science) represented Bharathiar University in the South Zone Inter University badminton tournament held at SRM University, Chennai from 22 to 25 November.
The team showcased their skills and dominance right from the first game of the tournament and kept their intent right till the end to win the games for Bharathiar University. Around 92 university teams from various South Indian states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka participated in the three-day tournament.

"This is the first time that Baharathiar University's Badminton Team is entering the finals of the South Zone Inter University badminton tournament , as well as emerging as runners in the South Zone level and entering into an All India tournament," exulted Dr. Ramesh, the team coach.
