The cadets of the NCC Directorate of TN, PY and A&D has won the All India Thal Sainik competition in New Delhi, and were the Runners-up in the Nau Sainik competitions at Karwar.
The cadets of the NCC Directorate of TN, PY and A&D has won the All India Thal Sainik competition in New Delhi, and were the Runners-up in the Nau Sainik competitions at Karwar.
The Directorate has created history by winning the championship of the All India Vayu Sainik competition consecutively for two years. More than 600 cadets from 17 Directorates of different states at Jodhpur and Rajasthan vied in the competition, in which cadets from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar won the major trophies.

Cadet R Jayanth Kumar bagged gold in flying ( Boys) and Cadet P Kausalya claimed silver in Flying (Girls). While Cadet Melvin George and Cadet S Rajashekhar won the gold in aircraft static model making and Cadet Leonard Selva and Ganesh Kumar flew the RC aircraft to perfection to grab the silver. Bronze was clinched in control line aircraft flying by Cadet Infant Raj and Bhuveneshwaran M.
ANOs (Instructional staff) of the Directorate were adjudged the best instructors in the All India training Camp for the ANOs held at Kamptee, Maharashtra. A series of awards and incentives have been announced by the governments of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and, Andaman and Nicobar for the cadets.
The NCC Directorate is striving to be the best in the country when it comes to imparting training and preparing the cadets. Its cadets from all across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman are striking gold and winning all the trophies.
The Directorate was the first in the country to install flying, rowing and firing simulators for cadets with the proactive support of the Governmemt and administration. “This gave that cutting edge competitive advantage to the cadets of our directorate,” says Vijesh K Garg, the Deputy Director General. The NCC cadets are highly motivated because of the involvement of top leadership and all the Instructional staff," he added.
