Coimbatore : CDBA felicitated the Coimbatore district Basketball sub-junior girls’ team who emerged winners in the Tamilnadu State championship tournament.
A function was held at the CDBA Office, VOC Corporation ground, yesterday to felicitate the Coimbatore district Basketball sub-junior girls’ team who won the Tamilnadu state championship tournament for the fourth time in a row. During the event, The Coimbatore District Basketball Association (CDBA) felicitated the sub-junior basketball girl’s team and mementos were presented to the winners. CDBA members Mr. C Anand, Vice president, Mr. S Suresh, Secretary in-charge, Mr. A Chandran, Techincal committee and Mr. S Balaji, Manager were also present during the event.
Out of the 12 players felicitated, three are now selected in the Tamilnadu state team’s list of 21 players who would be participating in the National basketball championship to be held at Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
This felicitation came following the win of the team in the Tamilnadu State championships held at Thanjavur last month. The Coimbatore team coached by Mr. Murugesan and Assistant Coach Mr. Mariappan has been winning this championship for the past four years.
In the event, a special thanks was accorded to the office bearers, selection committee members, educational institutions and referees for achieving consistent results over the years.
