Coimbatore : ND Hari Shankar's blazing unbeaten double century (201) and a scintillating unbeaten 105 from B Sachin paved the way for Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Vidhyalaya HSS to set up a 231-run victory over Sri Ramakrishna Matric HSS, in the finals of the Cdca Non-Age Group inter-school tournament for the Coimbatore United Round Table 186 Trophy, held at the PSG IMS grounds, on Wednesday.

ND HariShankar, a habitual big scorer came up with the second double century of his career. He scored his first double century in the inter-district match last year. Today, in the finals of the inter-school tournament, batting first, Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Vidhyalaa HSS set a huge target of 351 for the loss of just one wicket in 50 overs. Hari Shankar scored 201 from 160 balls, including 5 sixes in his innings while B Sachin scored 105 from 137 balls.
Defending such a huge target on board, the bowlers Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidhyalaya stuck to their job to bundle out the opponent for a meagre 130 in 38.5 overs, thus ensuring a 231-run victory in the finals to lift the trophy.
Scores - Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Vidhyalaa HSS (351/1 in 50 overs - ND Hari Shankar 201* and B Sachin 105*) beat Sri Ramakrishna Matric HSS (130 all out in 38.5 overs - S Harjith 34, G Siddarth 3/40 and B Sachin 3/24).
