Coimbatore : As many as 360 skaters vied in the 25th district level skating competition held by the Coimbatore District skating association (CDSA) in the corporation skating rink, near VOC Park here on Friday.
Coimbatore : As many as 360 skaters vied in the 25th district level skating competition held by the Coimbatore District skating association (CDSA) in the corporation skating rink, near VOC Park here on Friday.
The three-day competition is being conducted under various categories like below 6, 6-8, 8-10, 10-12, 12-14, 14-16 and above 16 for both boys and girls. The races are being conducted under three categories such as
quad, inline and adjustable.
Today being the first day of the competition, rink races were conducted. Road races will be held on the following days of the competition. The winners and runners of each category will qualify for the state-level meet to be held later this year.
"Last year, CDSA won second place in the state-level tournament, and so we are hoping and preparing to win the state-level championship this year," said Chandrasekar (Secretary of CDSA).
