No More Extensions: Coimbatore Railway Users Strongly Object To Bengaluru Uday Express Route Extension

This objection comes in the wake of losing access to two major Bangalore trains, the Island Express and the Intercity Express, and the persistent issue of inadequate seat availability for Coimbatore passengers.

Coimbatore: The local community of Coimbatore has voiced a strong objection against the proposed extension of the Coimbatore-Bangalore-Coimbatore Uday Express beyond the city. This objection comes in the wake of losing access to two major Bangalore trains, the Island Express and the Intercity Express, and the persistent issue of inadequate seat availability for Coimbatore passengers.

The residents have been advocating for an overnight train service between Coimbatore and Bangalore for the last 35 years, which still awaits approval from railway authorities. They emphasize that the existing practice of extending train services beyond Coimbatore has consistently led to a reduction in seat and berth availability for the local passengers.

The community urges everyone to share this information across forums and insist that the Railways should not proceed with the extension of the Uday Express. Their message is clear and firm: No more extensions of Coimbatore trains. This collective stance reflects the growing discontent among Coimbatore railway users over the recurring issue of train extensions affecting local travelers.
