Dawn to dusk bandh in Kerala today, following the murder of a BJP party member


Today, a state-wide bandh from dawn to dusk has been called for in Kerala condemning the murder of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cadre in Kannur. Rameeth, a BJP party member from Pinrayi in Kerala was murdered last week. Police are investigation this murder. BJP workers in Kerala have alleged that Rameeth was killed by members of Marxist communist party. Claims have been made that Rameeth was hacked to death due to political enmity.

It has been announced that in lieu of this bandh, vehicles will not operate and shop have also downed their shutters. Owing to the closure of petrol bunks, private vehicle owners are hit hard. However, medical shops remain open. Buses that are operated by Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC ) from Kanyakumari are halted at Kaliyakkavilai. Private vehicles from Tamil Nadu are also stopped at the TN border.
