Surat: From Thursday, the Surat BJP office will get a new address on Udhna main road. The new party 'karyalaya' will be inaugurated jointly by the BJP national president Amit Shah and Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani.
If the BJP leaders are to be believed then the new office is a first-of-it-kind in Gujarat with construction on 55,000 square feet area. The building, which has all modern amenities, is designed by reputed architect Sanjay Joshee and constructed by Siddhi Constructions.
Sources said that the building was constructed in a span of one year at an approximate cost of Rs 10 crore. The plot was finalized many years ago, but the BJP leadership wanted an ultramodern office structure.
"This is the first-of-its-kind BJP office with hi-tech amenities. We have completed the project in a record one year," said Sagar Dandavate, director of Siddhi Constructions, who will be donating Rs 2.11 lakh each in the Kanya Kelavani and Military Welfare to Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani on Thursday.
The building has amenities like Wi-Fi, CCTV cameras, video-conferencing room, ultramodern centrally air-conditioned pillar-less auditorium with seating capacity for 500 and 10 separate offices for different BJP morchas in the city.
BJP president, Nitin Bhajiawala, said, "Surat BJP functioned from the old office at Rustompura since last many decades. The office is located in the residential area, so we always faced problems to park our cars and other vehicles. The new BJP karyalaya is ultramodern and one of the finest structures in the entire state."
