J&K : Three security peronnel, civilian killed in encounter with militants in Kupwara

After receving a tip-off about the presence of militants, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Bebagund area OF Kupwara, PTI reported quoting officials. During the searches, the militants opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated.

Although there was lull in firing several times during the day, militants would resume firing as soon as the security forces advanced towards the house where the militants were hiding, the news agency reported.

Four persons were also injured in clashes between a group of youngsters and security personnel near the encounter site.
