Shimla: At least 30 people were injured when a private mini bus carrying 60 passengers skidded off the road and rolled down a hill in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district on Monday, police said.

The bus was coming to Kullu town when it met with the accident near Jawalapur about 200 km from the state capital.

"At least 60 people mostly belonging to Jawalapur, Nagwain and nearby areas were travelling in the bus. The injured have been referred to the Regional Hospital in Kullu," a police official said.

Eyewitnesses said the bus was overcrowded and the driver appeared to have lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a turn.
