Expelled Samajwadi Party MP Amar Singh is back in his old form. Known for his blunt talk, Singh has fired a fresh salvo against the party, and senior leader Azam Khan in particular. This comes after a long spell of silence on political issues by Amar Singh.

On Tuesday, he addressed a press conference in Lucknow and attacked his arch rival Azam Khan for his controversial remark against his wife and daughters.

A day before the press conference, Amar Singh released a four minute video wherein he accused Azam Khan of making "highly objectionable" remarks against his family members.

During his press conference, Singh showed a small video clip wherein Azam Khan purportedly said that Amar Singh's wife and people like him should be cut into pieces on roads and acid should be thrown on his daughters.

Angered over this, Amar Singh has levelled a series of allegations against Khan and SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav. He has demanded that Khan should be booked for his comment and his role in the Muzaffarnagar riots should be probed.

Terming the Samajwadi Party as 'Namazwadi party', Amar Singh said he will prove that the party has nothing to do with socialist ideology and is rather focused on "appeasing" Muslims.

Speaking to India today TV, Singh heaped praises on the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He said he opposed the RSS till the time he had not met its top leadership, but now his perception has changed.

He said he "fully supports" the idea of RSS now and loves to be called 'sanghi' because it is full of nationalist zeal.

He said in the 2019 Lok Sabha, he will campaign for the BJP in his own capacity. "If the BJP gives me any responsibility, I will be happy to shoulder it," he said.

Singh claimed that he had "opened a channel" for Shivpal Yadav, uncle of Akilesh Yadav, in the BJP and had "almost fixed his entry", but Shivpal "withdrew his feet at the last moment".
