PM Modi in Lucknow, to focus on Urban Development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Lucknow on a 2-day visit, from July 28-29, where he will lay the foundation stone for various projects under flagship missions of Urban Development, in the State of Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Lucknow on a 2-day visit, from July 28-29, where he will lay the foundation stone for various projects under flagship missions of Urban Development, in the State of Uttar Pradesh.

On July 28 he will attend an event on "Transforming Urban Landscape."

This will mark the third anniversary of three key government initiatives related to Urban Development. These include Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban); Atal Mission for Rejuvenation of Urban Transformation (AMRUT); and the Smart Cities Mission.

In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit in Lucknow, most of the investment will be made in western Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister will visit an exhibition on Flagship Missions of Urban Development. He will interact with 35 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban)- one from each State/Union Territories.

He will receive a feedback from Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) beneficiaries, via video link, from different cities of Uttar Pradesh.

In its endeavour to attract investments and promote industrialisation, the Government of Uttar Pradesh had organised the UP Investors Summit in February 2018.

The government claimed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs 4.2 lakh crores were finalised during this summit. This includes investment in sectors like Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, Power, Information Technology & Electronic Manufacturing, Tourism etc.

Within a few months, investment proposals for 81 projects amounting to an investment of about Rs. 60,000 crore has now materialised for Ground Breaking.

Developmental Plans

High-value investment of Rs 23,500 crores will be made in Noida and Greater Noida. Every project launch will be conducted digitally from Lucknow in the presence of Narendra Modi.

All the investors have got the necessary clearance from the state government and few of them have already started working. Reliance and WTC are the biggest investors with the investment of Rs 10,000 crores each.
