Selling pressures in realty, energy limit market gains

The key market indices, Sensex and Nifty closed at 35,483.47 and 10,786.95 points. Market gained almost 40 points on BSE index while Nifty closed higher by 19.30 points.

Pharma, auto and FMCG sectoral indices traded in the green while realty, IT sectors performed low amid heavy selling pressures.

The markets had opened on a higher note and witnessed a rise with NSE crossing the 10,800 mark but failed to retain till the closing bell.

Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, Maruti, Sun Pharma were the top trading shares on NSE. On the other hand, Tata Steel, Coal India, Reliance dipped on the market indices on Monday.
