CRPF's Chetan Kumar Cheetah resumed duty as Commandant in Force Headquarters at Delhi last week. He was shot nine times by terrorists in a fierce gun battle in Hajin area of Bandipora in North Kashmir almost a year ago.
He was almost dead at the end of the gun battle that happened a year ago. Today, Chetan is back in his Khaki uniform with an eye-patch on his right eye and metal glasses. He said that he is proud to be back and resume his duty. He also said that the Khaki uniform is his second skin.
Chetan Kumar Cheetah faced multiple gunshots from terrorists hiding in the Bandipora region in Kashmir during a search operation he conducted along with his battalion on February 14th last year.
The brave Commandant received Kirti Chakra last year and he still hasn’t lost the fighting spirit in him. Chetan said that he is ready to do field operations if his Country wants him to do so.
In the operation, Cheetah lost his eye and he is undergoing physiotherapy to resume sensation in his hand.
