Manholes in Kerala will be cleaned by robots hereafter

The Kerala government today launched ‘Bandicoot’, the robot that is going to end manual scavenging in the State. Launching the scheme, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said,”Hereafter, only robots will clean manholes in State.”

The Kerala government today launched ‘Bandicoot’, the robot that is going to end manual scavenging in the State. Launching the scheme, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said,”Hereafter, only robots will clean manholes in State.”

The ‘Bandicoots’ were designed by a Trivandrum based start-up GenRobotics. After completing several rounds of tests, the robots were launched today by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram today. The robots were developed by the start-up based on a memorandum between Kerala Water Authority and Kerala Start-up mission.
