Theni: I have not sought any ministerial berth when we reunited after the split in ADMK but had to accept the Deputy Chief ministership as PM Modi insisted on it and wanted me to be in the cabinet said O Panneerselvam Deputy Chief Minister.
Briefing the media at Theni O. Panneerselvam said “When I met PM Narendra Modi, he recalled a luncheon meeting between him and Amma where Amma spoke a lot about me (Panneerselvam). PM then told me to take up the ministership in Tamil Nadu cabinet, which I refused saying that any position in the party is fine.
“But Prime Minister Modi insisted that I rejoin the party as a minister keeping in mind the current political situation at that time” O. Panneerselvam said.
“It is only because of the PM that I am a Minister Today otherwise I don’t need any position because Amma made me MLA 4 times and CM twice,” O. Panneerselvam said.
