They were stolen from Arulmigu Kailasanathar Temple.

The Thalaivasal police retrieved the three bronze idols stolen from the Arulmigu Kailasanathar Temple in Kamakkapalayam village from a cremation ground.

Three bronze idols – Amman idols two and Bairavar idol 1 – were stolen from the temple by some miscreants on late Wednesday evening and the incident came to light, when the priest and the devotees visited the temple the next morning. The executive officer of the temple preferred a complaint with the Thalaivasal police.

Meanwhile, a group of cattle grazers spotted a gunny bag in the local cremation ground in Kamakkapalayam and informed the Talaivasal police.

The police personnel found the three bronze idols stolen from the temple in the gunny bag.

The police sources said that the idols after investigation will be handed over to the HR and CE authorities.

The police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits involved in the incident.
