TINDIVANAM: A portion of the compound wall of the newly constructed combined court buildings in Tindivanam collapsed in 30 minutes long stormy rain on Thursday- barely a month after it was formally inaugurated, exposing the poor quality of its construction.
The combined court complex, constructed on a sprawling 8.15 acres land at a cost of Rs 18.18 crore, was formally inaugurated by Justice Nooty Ramamoohana Rao, Madras High Court, on April 14 in the presence of Tamil Nadu Law Minister C Ve Shanmugam and Collector L Subramanian. The very next day the combined court buildings started functioning.
The combined court buildings and judges’ quarters were constructed in five long years after the foundation stone was laid by justice V Ramasubramanian of Madras High Court on August 18, 2012.
Meanwhile, a portion of (about 100 foot long) compound wall of the recently opened combined court complex collapsed in the stormy rain which lashed for about 30 minutes on Thursday evening, exposing the poor quality of its construction. Besides, the air-conditioners and window-panes also were damaged in the rain.
It should be pointed out that Tindivanam is the native of TN Law Minister C Ve Shanmugam
