THANJAVUR: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to visit Thanjavur on May 12 to attend the ongoing state level organizational training camp being held at Shanmuga Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, popularly known as SASTRA University.
Mohan Bhagwat would arrive in Thanjavur on May 12 at noon and would stay in the varsity campus for four days till May15 evening. A well furnished guest house on the university campus has been kept ready for his stay, sources said.
The RSS chief who enjoys the top category ‘ Z+’ security cover will have about 60 commandos of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) round the clock to protect him besides the security provided by the local police personnel.
In view of his proposed visit and four-day-stay, we have made elaborate security arrangements, a senior police officer claimed.
A total of 145 volunteers are now undergoing the state level second year organizational training which began at SASTRA university campus on April 28. The 21-day training camp will conclude on May 18. Debriefing will take place in the morning on May 19, sources said.
The state level first year organizational training camp was held in Peravurani last year, sources said.
