TIRUVARUR: In a daring act, a gang of four unidentified persons robbed Rs 3.07 lakh from a TASMAC supervisor after attacking the victim with aruval near Mannargudi on Saturday night.
Tamilselvam (40), resident of Pulavarayangudikadu near Mannargudi and working as supervisor at the TASMAC outlet at Cholapettai, was returning home in his motorbike, along with Rs 3.07 lakh - the day’s collection - when the four robbers who came in two motorbikes collided with his motorbike. Tamilselvam who lost control collapsed on the road. Then, the gangsters attacked him indiscriminately with aruval. Tamilselvam who suffered injuries fainted. Taking advantage of the situation, the gansters robbed the money and sped away.
People on the neighbourhood who found Tamilselvam lying unconscious on the road, rescued him and admitted him at government hospital in Mannargudi. Based on a complaint, Needamangalam police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the four member gang.
