THANJAVUR: Mortal remains of T V Mahadevan, nephew of AIADMK (Amma) general secretary Sasikala were consigned to flames here today. A host of ministers took part in the funeral ceremony.
His body was taken in a procession from his residence at Parisutham Nagar, Thanjavur, to the crematorium at Marikulam in Pookkara street in Thanjavur where his brother Thangamani performed funeral rites and then his mortal remains were consigned to flames.

Besides his close relatives, a host of ministers and local leaders of other political parties placed wreaths and paid their last respects. However, the much expected Sasikala, now lodged at central prison in Bengaluru, could not come to pay her last respects to her nephew as she was denied parole by prison authorities.
His body had been kept in the main hall at his residence to enable people to pay their last respects.
On behalf of Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami, his son Mithun placed wreaths and paid his last respects today.
Those who paid their last respects included AIADMK (Amma) Deputy General Secretary TTV Dinakaran, Divakaran, ‘Puthiya Paarvai’ Editor and Sasikala’s husband M Natarajan, Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha M Thambidurai, ministers ‘Dindigul’ Srinivasan, N C Sampath, R Duraikannu, Rajendra Balaji, Thangamani, Saroja, M R Vijayabaskar, ‘Vellamandi’ Natarajan, R V Udhayakumar, Manikandan, Rajya Sabha member R Vaithilingam and MP K Parasuraman.
Besides, former union minister S S Palanimanickam (DMK), former minister SNM Ubayadulla (DMK), Moovendar Munnetra Kazhagam president G M Sridhar Vandayar, Sri Thyagabrahma Mahotsava Sabha president G R Moopanar also paid their last respects.
