On the tables, in the patio, on the windowsills - succulents are everywhere. It wouldn't be amiss to say that 2017 has been the year of succulents that were the go-to-green choice for homes and offices. The reasons? First, they are low-maintenance and require little watering as they retain water in their leaves, stems or roots. Second, they can flower anywhere - in small glasses, cups and cans, inside or outside. Third, they come in interesting textures and are known for their air-purifying capacity.
Planter's punch: Potted succulents add freshness to your dining or living space. Landscaping designer Swati Dike says, "Succulents come in different colours, and their patterns add a decorative touch. That, they are also hassle-free adds to their popularity." Her advice: Pot them in glass/colourful containers, and light up some candles and fairy lights around them. If you want to make your succulents more decorative, put them in unused teapots and teacups. Mix small succulents with colourful flowers to make an interesting bouquet. They also make for an eye-catching table centrepiece.
