A foreigner from London, who had come down to the city for on-site work, was found dead in the bathroom of his hotel room on Monday afternoon.
He had checked into the business hotel a week ago. Police suspect it to be a case of natural death. They are waiting for the autopsy report.
“The deceased, Owen Keith Michael (51) worked with an MNC in London. He had come down to the city on August 16 for official work at the firm’s Bengaluru branch. He had checked into a business hotel in Marathahalli,” said M.B. Boralingaiah, DCP (South East). On Monday afternoon, when Michael failed to turn up for work and did not answer calls, his colleagues called up the hotel.
The staff searched the room and found him on the bathroom floor, the police said.
“The room and the bathroom door were locked from inside. The room has an electronic key system, ruling out forcible entry. Michael is suspected to have died on Sunday night or Monday morning. An autopsy will be conducted at Vaidehi Hospital, Whitefield, which we hope will throw more light on the cause of death,” Mr. Boralingaiah said. A case of unnatural death has been registered.
