Most of the portals were not open on Monday morning. Prio.com, Dhaka Times 24, Poribartan, Risingbd, Banglamail71 and many news websites are closed already.

Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) general secretary Imdadul Haque, when asked about the reason for the closure of the website, told the media, "We have received the instructions of BTRC,.

Chairman of Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Zahurul Haq told the media that this arrangement has been taken against the portals due to the anti-state and anti-social publicity campaign.

Earlier, various websites were closed without explaining any reason at different times and in almost every case, the BTRC gave the same reason.

Prio.com’s news editor Zakaria Swapan disclosed the frustration regarding the matter. He said that they were not officially informed about the closure of the portal.

Swapan said, "I came in the morning and found that the portal is not running, it is closed. Why is this so, what are the charges against us? I do not know anything."
