Do You Drink Energy Drinks? This Could Happen to You

What Happened to the Guy?

According to the medical report, A man drank more than 20 Monster Energy drinks - 24 to be exact. Sometime later, he was rushed to the hospital because his heart looked like it was about to jump out of his chest. His chest was pumping as if ready to explode as the medical staff tried their best to help him. It is definitely something you don't see every day.

Energy Drinks Can Be Dangerous, But They Are Still Popular:

Energy drinks contain ingredients, such as tuarin, pyridoxine, riboflavin, and nicotinamide. Its primary ingdeint though is caffeine, just like coffee and tea, but typically stronger than the two beverages. Drinking energy drinks can help boost your energy, hence the name. They promise to improve your endurance, concentration, and stamina.

If you consume energy drinks minimally, it may not affect you in a negative way. The Drug and Alcohol Dependence journal states that there is still no specific safety regulation about drinking these beverages and how they can affect the consumers in long term. Although this is the case, it is important for energy drink lovers to know there have already been five deaths that are linked to these drinks, especially Monster Energy. Most of them died because of a heart disease with the most common being heart arrhythmia.

While caffeine does have some benefits for the body and mind, it can lead to addiction. And of course, being addicted to it means you want to consume more caffeine by drinking more energy drinks. You get more caffeine here than when you drink coffee, soda, tea, or other caffeinated drinks.

The problem is too much caffeine can lead to insomnia, anxiety, vomiting and restlessness. These are not all because there are serious issues as well including tachycardia, tremors, and heart palpitations, or in the case of the man in thevideo, the heart pumping almost out of the chest.
