The Coimbatore district administration has advised people to wear masks as the city of Coimbatore tops the list in Tamil Nadu in terms of covid-19 cases.

During the first wave, second wave and third wave of covid-19, all sectors in Coimbatore came to a standstill. With the number of infections gradually coming down, the industry and manufacturing and other sectors have slowly returned to normalcy, a few months back.

However, the increase in coronavirus infections has become a worrying factor during the ongoing fever camps conducted across the district.

Among the 10 persons, who tested positive for Coronavirus in a single day yesterday, three were discharged yesterday, and 58 other persons are undergoing treatment for covid-19.

According to the health department, Corona cases, which were in single digits, have been steadily rising over the past few weeks.

“The public should be vigilant and wear masks to bring the infection under control,” the Public Health officials said.

Surveillance camps are on going and District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati said preventive measures are being taken continuously.
