Coimbatore: Dr.Sivakumar, Superintendent, Government Medical College and Hospital said that the outpatient visitors have slightly increased due to slight surge in seasonal fever cases.

About 6 fresh inpatients were reported in recent days, and 4 were discharged. All of which are fever-related cases.
Referring to a similar effect witnessed from October- December 2022, he emphasized that its escalation is unpredictable as of now and mentioned that climatic changes could be one of the factors.
Suggesting measures he said that mask mandate in public places, washing hands in regular intervals and using saline water for mouthwash can help.
“It is an effective antibacterial element and reduces inflammation,†he said.
