Coimbatore: The District Collector K. Rajamani through an official notification has invited applications from eligible candidates for free industrial training in the district.

The training will be conducted at Government Industrial Training Centre for Women and Government Industrial Training centre in Anaikati here. As the courses for the academic year will commence by August 2019, online applications are invited from eligible candidates.
Skill Training will be offered in electrician, MMV, fitter, turner, machinist, copa, wireman, welder, pattern maker, sheet metal maker, mechatronics, digital photographer, electrician, welding among others. Depending on the course, the training period will vary from one year to two years.
Interested candidates who have passed 8th standard or 10th pass are asked to apply online at www.skilltraining.TN.gov.in . The applications forms can be filled and submitted through online. The last date for filing applications is June 16, 5 pm. However, those students who have difficulty in accessing online can visit the training centres and submit the applications in person.
While the training is absolutely free, the trainees will also be provided with free bus pass uniforms, books and other training matetials. Based on their performance, free cycles and laptops will also be provided. Free lunch will be provided for SC/ST candidates, the release said.
The age limit for male candidates is 14-40, however there is no age limit for female candidates.
Once the training is completed, completion certificates and job opportunities will be provided to the candidates at private companies through campus interviews.
