Coimbatore: A recent release from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has urged the motorists to use DigiLocker to store their vehicle documents and that it is completely valid to show them to the traffic police in case of need.

DigiLocker is a secured national digital locker system approved by the government in which soft documents of driving license, RC book, insurance can be stored. Though the system was launched a year before, it did not have a wide reach as it was rumoured that documents in DigiLocker are not approved and will not be accepted by traffic police.

Now this, recent statement from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has put an end to the rumours and supported the use of DigiLocker.
"Soft copies in DigiLocker should be treated at par with certificates issued by transport authorities", the release said.
