The Human Animal Society (HAS) and Prani Mithran are two charitable organizations that have been assigned the task of catching stray dogs in 100 ward areas in Coimbatore. These organizations are aiming to reduce the number of strays on the streets, improve animal welfare, and create a safer environment for both citizens and animals alike.
Coimbatore: Two NGOs have been charged with controlling stray dogs in 100 ward areas of the Coimbatore Corporation. East, South and Central Zones have been assigned to Prani Mithran. In addition, the city Corporation has provided two stray dog-catching vehicles.
The other Human Animal Society (HAS), a charitable organisation, has been assigned the western and northern zones and has been given a vehicle to catch stray dogs. Stray Dog Spaying Centres also provide legal neutering of stray dogs and rabies vaccination to stray dogs in Seeranaickenpalayam, Ondipudur, and Ukkadam.
Furthermore, complaints can be filed by contacting the following complaint numbers: 9944434706 (Prani Mithran), 9366127215 (Human Animal Society), and the concerned Zonal Assistant Commissioners, Health Inspectors, and Health Officers.

Through this, the number of stray dogs roaming in the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation areas will soon be brought under control. At present, arrangements have been made to catch stray dogs through vehicles with volunteers as they cause disruption to traffic and public on the roads and streets.
Therefore, the Corporation Commissioner M. Pratap IAS has requested the public and volunteers to extend full cooperation to the activities of the Corporation.
