The Railway administration is planning to run special trains to avoid overcrowding ahead of Diwali and Navratri festivals. Accordingly, Ernakulam-Chennai MGR railway station and Thiruvananthapuram-Tata Nagar trains passing through Coimbatore will be operated.
Coimbatore: To avoid crowding during the festive season of Deepavali, the Railway administration is planning to run special trains.
Ernakulam - Chennai MGR Railway Station
A special train will be run between Ernakulam - Chennai MGR Railway Station (car number: 06046) on October 20 and 21. The train departing from Ernakulam at 9 pm on October 20 will reach Chennai at 9:20 am, the next day. Similarly, the special train (06045) will depart from Chennai MGR Railway Station at 3.10 pm on the next day, on October 21 and reach Ernakulam at 3:20 am. This special train service will stop at Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpet, Katpadi and Arakkonam.
Thiruvananthapuram - Tata Nagar
Similarly, the Thiruvananthapuram-Tata Nagar special train (06192) is scheduled to run on October 1 and 8. This train leaves Thiruvananthapuram at midnight, 2.30 am, and the Tata Nagar-Thiruvananthapuram special train (06191) in the other direction has been scheduled to depart at 5.15 am on October 4 and 11.
It has been announced that these special trains will pass through the stations of Podanur, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Perambur, Vijayawada and Rourkela.
