Interested in running cracker shops in Coimbatore during Deepavali? Apply before September 30 - District Collector

The District Collector has announced that those interested in setting up a temporary firecracker shop on the eve of Deepavali will have to apply for the licence through e-seva centres by September 30, 2022.



Coimbatore: In view of the deepavali festival to be celebrated on October 24, coimbatore district collector has said that those interested in running temporary firecracker shops in rural areas of coimbatore district should apply by September 30.

District Collector G S Sameeran issued a statement in this regard, Under the Explosives Act Rules, 2008, the Coimbatore District Revenue Officer has been informed that the temporary fireworks licence should have been obtained in a single window system from the current year as per the orders of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Accordingly, applications are invited only through online mode and applications should be made through e-Seva centres by September 30 for obtaining the licence.

Documents required to apply

1. The field for which the temporary sale of firecrackers license is requested should cover 9 square meters to 25 square meters and the field map indicating the field should have a field map that clearly indicates the ambience of the road facility and the capacity in the shop (scan will be done at the e-Service Centre).

2. If the owner of the place seeking the licence is the petitioner, the relevant documents and a copy of the receipt of payment of house tax in the current financial year.

3. In case of rented building, the original consent letter obtained on stamp paper to see Rs 20 from the owner of the building along with a copy of the original receipt of payment of house tax by the owner.

4. Original payment slip of Rs.700/- as license fee in government account under the same head (to be paid at e-Chalan Computer Centre and submitted at e-Seva centre)

5. Colour photographs of the applicant's passport size (will be scanned at the e-Seva centre)

6. The applicant's original PAN card, Aadhar card and ration card.
