The Corporation requested the public to attend the 28th Mega Vaccine Camp which is to be held on Saturday, April 30 in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: The Mega Vaccination Camp is being held in Coimbatore on Saturday, April 30 from 9 am to 5 pm. A total of 325 booths have been selected for the Covid Mega Vaccination Camp on the basis of 3 booths per ward and 1 mobile booth per station.
A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Corporation Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and Municipal Health Officer for all the medical officers working in 32 Urban Primary Health Centres and 5 Zonal Health Medical Officers.
Thus far, 2,10,000 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Coimbatore and a list of people who need to be vaccinated has been received from 32 centres through the CoWIN App. Moreover, details to vaccinate 2 lakh people by directly approaching them have been provided. The medical team will travel to their locality by autos and corporation vehicles and the details of the place and date of vaccination will also be provided.
Those above 60 years of age who have completed 9 months after the first two doses of vaccination against Covid can get a booster administered. Those in the age group of 18 to 59 years can get vaccinated at private hospitals by paying the fee.
School children in the age group of 12 to 14 years can get vaccinated at nearby Primary Health Centres by producing their school identity cards. In case children studying in schools need vaccination, the Head Mistress/ Principal of the schools can contact the City Welfare Officer through the mobile number 94437 33202/ Coimbatore Corporation Information Centre No.0422 2302323.
Information about the second dose of vaccination, immunization and booster vaccination for children have also been briefed. Apart from this, those who have failed to get vaccinated can also get vaccinated at the urban primary health centres in the areas where they live.
The CCMC Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara has also said that tokens will be distributed at the Covid camps. He has requested all the public and children to participate in the camp.
