National Level Mission Mode efforts are in place to control FMD through a country-wide vaccination and stringent biosecurity arrangements implemented under Foot and Mouth Disease Control Programme (FMD-CP). As part of which all district collectors across the states are advised to hold FMD vaccine camps and closely monitor the situation.
Addressing the cattle rearers and farmers, District Collector, K. Rajamani said, "The FMD vaccine camp is scheduled to be held in all the 32 districts under the National level FMD vaccination scheme. The camp will take place between October 14 to November 3 at all rural areas in the state."
"The team designated at the camps will ensure 100% availability of the vaccines which are stored in cold chain. As FMD is a viral disease and vaccination is the only way to prevent it, all cattle rearers are requested to bring their cattle on the respective dates to the camps and administer the vaccines", he added.
