Coimbatore: District Collector K. Rajamani has announced that the deadline for applying for license for setting up temporary cracker shops during Diwali has been extended till September 29.
Coimbatore: District Collector K. Rajamani has announced that the deadline for applying for license for setting up temporary cracker shops during Diwali has been extended till September 29.
Earlier the deadline for submitting applications was announced as August 31, however due to requests, the deadline has been extended. Hence, all traders who would be interested in applying for the same can apply through online and the single window system would be followed, as per the government order of Explosives Rule 2008, noted the District Collector through the release.
As per the orders of the Additional Secretary/ Revenue Administration officer, the applications should be attached with mandatory certificates and receipts.
Following are the documents required for applying for cracker license:
- A map of the shop, including the total square, area of 9 sq.mt to 25 sq.mt, the surrounding areas and the maximum capacity of the shop.
- If the applicant is the owner of the building then supporting documents of ownership and property tax receipt.
- If the applicant is a tenant, property tax receipt from the owner and permission note on Rs.20 document.
- Original receipt of Rs. 500 paid to the government through relevant department
- Passport size photos
- Original PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Ration card/ smart card.
Rules to be followed while setting up a temporary cracker shop:
- Crackers should be stored on the lower floor and there should be no residence on the upper floor.
- The shop should not be near schools, place of worship, marriage halls, near bus stations or in the area with combustible substances.
- There should be separate entrance and exit for the shop, if it is an RC roofing shop then no other cracker shop can function in 15-meter radius of the shop.
- The total area of the shop be as per the Explosives Rule 2008 should match (9 sq.mt to 25 sq.mt)
- When setting up temporary shops in empty grounds, a free space of 50-meter radius should be left.
- There should be a door number and proper address for the temporary cracker shop and it must duly be filled in the application.
- Marriage halls, auditoriums, community halls cannot be used to set up temporary cracker shops.
All the applications that are received beyond the submission date, applications that are not duly filled and applications that do not fit into the rules will be rejected, said the press release.
