Farmers from Tirupur and Dindigul districts had brought 12,304 kg of maize to the Alangiyam regulated market next to Dharapuram. The farmers are happy that maize was auctioned for Rs 2.72 lakh in the indirect auction held on Friday.

The indirect auction for maize was held at the Alangiyam Regulated Market Near Dharapuram in Tirupur district. Farmers from Tirupur and Dindigul districts had brought 12,304 kg of maize for sale.
The highest price was Rs 2,219 per quintal and the lowest was Rs 2,215 per quintal. Maize was sold for a total of Rs 2,72,000.
The arrangements for the auction were made by Arun Kumar, supervisor of the regulated outlet.
