Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University's (TNAU) Centre for Student’s Welfare in Coimbatore and Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada jointly organized an International Training Program on 'Engaging Africa: Global Partners for Agricultural Development' for Agricultural Instructors from Uganda at Centre for Student’s Welfare from December 5 to 16.
The inaugural function was held on December 5. Dr. N Maragatham, Dean (Centre for Students Welfare), TNAU in Coimbatore delivered the welcome address.

Dr. David Parks, Project Advancement Coordinator, Dalhousie University, Canada elucidated about the training program and collaborations of Dalhousie University. The 23 participants of the training program are from Bukalasa Agricultural College, Rwentanga Farm Institute, Ssese Farm Institute, Kaberamaido Technical Institute Uganda and two faculty staff from Dalhousie University, Canada. Dr. R Premavathi, Professor (Agrl. Extension), TNAU, Coimbatore concluded the event by delivering the vote of thanks.

The Directors of Directorate of Crop Management, Centre for Plant Protection Studies, Directorate of Extension Education, Agri. Business Development and the faculties of Centre for Students Welfare participated in the inaugural program.
