Muthuchelvi, S. Nandini, M. Priyadarshini, A. Sineka And Sh.Srinithi, an 11-member team, are currently staying in Annur under their village scheme.
They demonstrated a natural insect repellent called 3-G solution in Kanchappally village. The 3-G solution is a solution of ginger, garlic, green chillies.
Process: Paste with 18-gram garlic, 9-gram green chillies and 9-gram ginger. All three pastes are dissolved in 1-liter of water. Stir the mixture well and strain it before spraying. The extract is prepared with 500-ml, 100-ml soap solution and 9.4-liter water and sprayed on the plant.
Uses: Used to control shoot borer, fruit borer, stem borer, hairy caterpillar (drumstick stick) and nematode of vegetable crops.
