Native tomato prices rise sharply in Kinnathukadavu market: Farmers happy with auction of 26 rupees per kg
Coimbatore: Tomato yield has been affected due to continuous rains in Kinathukadavu area of Coimbatore district for the last two weeks.
As a result, the supply of tomatoes to the daily vegetable market near the new bus stand in Kinathukadavu has been greatly reduced. At present, only 2,000 boxes of tomatoes are available in the market, which is usually likely to receive 10,000 boxes of tomatoes a day.

Kinathukadavu Native tomato prices have risen sharply due to declining supply of tomatoes to the daily vegetable market. Today, 15 kg of native tomatoes were auctioned for 350 to 400 rupees at the Kinathukadavu vegetable market.

Similarly, an apple tomato weighing 15 kg was auctioned for 400 to 500 rupees. The increase in the price of tomatoes has pleased the farmers but has come as a shock to the everyday consumers
