Coimbatore: Kinathukkadavu Regional Assistant Director of Horticulture Gomati in a statement said drip irrigation is being set up on behalf of the Horticulture Department for the cultivation of vegetables, fruits, medicinal crops and coconut in the Kinathukadavu area.
Subsidy is provided for setting up drip irrigation for small and other farmers. The subsidy is given to small farmers who own five acres and to other farmers who own up to 12.5 acres. Beneficiaries who have set up drip irrigation in the current 50 per cent subsidy will be allowed to set up motor and water storage tanks under the subsidiary water storage scheme
