Around 778 bundles piled up for the Koppara auction in Pollachi

From the total number of round Koppara coconut bundles brought to the auction last week, this week fell short of around 4 bundles.


Coimbatore: A weekly Koppara auction is held at the organised trade center in Anamalai near Pollachi in Coimbatore. Koppara coconut traders and producers take part in this auction.

Accordingly, the weekly Koppara auction took place at the organised trade center in front of supervisor Manikavasagam.

A total of 138 farmers from the areas of Anamalai and it's outskirts took part in this auction and around 778 Koppara coconut bundles were brought for sale.

Around 8 traders took part in the auction and the total Koppara coconuts were divided into two categories based on their quality standards.



In that a total of 420 bundles were categorised into the 1 st category. These were auctioned from Rs 110 to Rs 120.55 per bundle. Around 358 Koppara coconut bundles were categorised into the second category based on their quality. These bundles were auctioned for Rs 74 to Rs 105.

From the total number of round Koppara coconut bundles brought to the auction last week, this week fell short of around 4 bundles. Also the first grade Koppara coconut was auctioned at a rate of Rs 7.85 lesser than the price range of the previous auction.
