NABARD will spend about 25,000 crores in upcoming financial year to provide basic amenities in the villages

NABARD Chairman Dr GR Chintala said that “NABARD will help the producers market the products from the coconut trees which will help improve their livelihood."


Coimbatore: NABARD Chairman Dr GR Chintala and NABARD Bank officers visited the value added products like Nira produced by the Coconut producers council in Devampadivalasu area in Pollachi, Coimbatore.

During the inspection, the farmers explained about how Nira drink is produced from the coconut tree and it's health properties to the NABARD officials.

Later NABARD Chairman Dr GR Chintala said that " NABARD will help the producers market the products from the coconut trees which will help improve their livelihood."



Post this NABARD Tamilnadu Chief Public Officer Selvaraj met with the press and said that "Nira drink which produced from the coconut trees, will be converted into powder mix for the product to be exported globally. To increase the fertility of the coconut trees, Homeopathy doctors will conduct a research. NABARD Bank will conduct training classes to help the producers. We have loaned around 15,000 crores this year for the development of villages. We are also spending about 25,000 crores in the upcoming financial year to provide basic amenities in the villages."

NABARD Tamilnadu Chief Public Officer Selvaraj then said that the bank has given around 10,000 crores to the Tamilnadu government to develop the drinking water supply management system in the state.
