Certificate Training Courses for Coconut Cultivation Technical studies start from February 8: Applicants can apply at Aliyar Coconut Research Centre


Coimbatore: Certificate Training Courses for Coconut Cultivation Technical studies are to be started from February 8. Officers have informed that the applicants can apply at Aliyar Coconut Research Centre.

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Open Distance Education Directorate and Aliyar Coconut Research Centre are jointly conducting Certificate Training Courses on Coconut Cultivation Technology for farmers. The training camp is scheduled to start on February 8at the Azhiyar Coconut Research centre and the training will take place six days with one full day training once a month for six months. Farmers wishing to attend this camp can apply at the Aliyar Coconut Research Centre.

Officials said, "Certificate Training Camp on Coconut Cultivation is being conducted in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Open and Distance Education Directorate and Aliyar Coconut Research Station to encourage young farmers and create awareness about coconut based cultivation techniques in the areas of Pollachi where coconut cultivation is abundant."

He also added that, "The training camp will provide training by agricultural scientists in the field of coconut planting, coconut nursery maintenance, irrigation management, fertilizer management, multi-layer cropping, disease management, training in coconut based value added production, integrated farm management and several other techniques. The training will be conducted once a month for a period of six months. Farmers need to pay Rs. 2560 and submit an application to attend the training. Applications for the training will be accepted until February 5. Coconut farmers who have undergone training for a period of six months will be awarded certificates by the Coimbatore Tamil Nadu Agricultural University upon completion of the training."
