There is high volume production of coconuts and banana plantations in the area. Wild elephants from the Western Ghats are often seen entering the fields in these villages for food who also destroy the fields during their feast.

However, the locals today witnessed 2 wild elephants roaming in the borders of the forest area near the villages. Local farmers and residents who were scared by the elephants informed the forest department officials about it.
Forest officials who arrived at the location are now involved in patrolling the area of the borders. Forest officials also promised the locals that immediate action will be taken to prevent the wild elephants from entering the villages.
