Lady's fingers harvest affected due to heavy mist
Coimbatore: Ladyfingers harvest affected due to heavy mist. Coconut is cultivated in large quantities in Pollachi and its surrounding areas. Followed by this paddy and rainfed cultivation takes place here. Especially in areas including Zameen Uthukkuli, Rasakkapalayam, Alampalayam and Vellalapalayam, buffalo cultivation is being done extensively. Lady's finger cultivation has been affected due to heavy mist in November and December.
The flowers on the plants are wilting and the lady's fingers are also wilting as a bud. This has affected the production of lady's finger in the surrounding areas of Pollachi. Farmers have said that the price of ladysfinger is likely to go up due to low yields.
