TBI, TNAU invites online applications for RKVY - R-ABI Agripreneurship orientation programme (AOP) - II


Coimbatore: The Technology Business Incubator (TBI) at the Directorate of Agribusiness Development, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has been extending support to startup firms in agriculture and allied sectors.

About 305 agripreneurs are enrolled as members in TBI and they are provided with handholding support for testing and quality certification, financial linkages, grants from government institutions, technical guidance, in house office space, market linkages, business promotional activities, patenting services and trademark registration.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare, RKVY Division, New Delhi has selected Technology Business Incubator, DABD, TNAU, Coimbatore as an R-ABI centre for implementing RAFTAAR programme in 2018-19. For implementing RKVY - R-ABI Agripreneurship orientation programme (AOP) - II, 2020-21 TBI, TNAU has called for an online application which is open from 04.05.2020.

Graduates with an innovative idea and aspiring to start an agribusiness venture are encouraged to apply.

The candidates will be screened and selected by a committee for a full time 60 days training with a stipend of Rs.10,000 per month for 2 months. The training will be highlighted on the potential agribusiness ventures, guidance to startups, insight into different aspects of business, schemes and subsidies from the government and to draft a business proposal.

After successful completion of the training, the business plan of the trainees will be forwarded to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, New Delhi a maximum grant up to Rs.5 lakhs (Rupees five lakhs only).

During 2019-20, AOP 1 was conducted in which twenty aspiring agripreneurs were selected for a 2 months training programme with a stipend of Rs.10,000 per month.

Their ventures include food processing, biotechnology, IoT, health and wellness products, hi-tech agriculture etc. Trainees after successful completion of the programme presented their pitch deck in March 2020 for a grant up to Rs.5 Lakhs. The release of the grant is awaited.

The last date for receipt of filling in the online application is 31.05.2020.
