TNAU to conduct Awareness Programme on Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management in the Agricultural Sector

Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is organizing a one-day awareness programme on “Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management in the Agricultural Sector” on 13.03.2020 for the benefit of farmers.

Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is organizing a one-day awareness programme on “Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management in the Agricultural Sector” on 13.03.2020 for the benefit of farmers. 

The programme is organized by the Directorate of Extension Education, TNAU and supported by Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TSREDCO), Hyderabad, ICAR – Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Hyderabad. About 350 farmers from Tamil Nadu and Scientists from KVKs, Students, and Officials from Dept. of Agriculture are participating in the event. 

Dr. N. Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU will inaugurate the event on 13.03.2020. Officials from TSREDCO, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Joint Director of Agriculture, Coimbatore and Pump set Manufactures are participating in the event. The seminar topics include Water Use Efficiency, Demand Side Management through Biogas in Agriculture, Energy Efficient measures in Farm Machinery, Applications of Solar Energy in Agricultural Sector, Energy Conservation Techniques in Agriculture, and Energy Efficiency in Pump Sets. 

Exhibits depicting energy efficiency, energy conservation in the agricultural sector will be arranged in the event.
