TNAU to give training to Nilgiris farmers on organic farming- District collector Innocent Divya

The Nilgiris: The district administration would facilitate the training in organic farming for Nilgiris farmers in coordination with the TNAU said District Collector Innocent Divya.

In view of the recent announcement that organic farming would be promoted in the Nilgiris district on a large scale, the collector said that the “District administration would take all steps to create awareness among the farmers about the viability of organic farming and collaborate with the TNAU to train the farmers and help them to take up organic farming”.

At a recent event, the Minister for Local Administration SP Velumani has announced that organic farming would be given priority in Nilgiris.

The collector also appealed to the tourists not to carry the plastic bottle and other plastic items while visiting the Nilgiris as it would affect the environment and farming practices.
