Coimbatore: The Additional Director of the Department of Agriculture, J Vijaya Rani inspected implementation of the Micro Irrigation (PMKSY) scheme in the Sulur Block of Coimbatore District.
Coimbatore: The Additional Director of the Department of Agriculture, J Vijaya Rani inspected implementation of the Micro Irrigation (PMKSY) scheme in the Sulur Block of Coimbatore District.
She also inspected the drip irrigated fields in Kadambadi revenue village of Sulur Block and interacted with the farmers regarding efficient and economical use of water in agriculture.
Later, Vijaya Rani advised farmers to grow fruit trees like papaya and pomegranate in between the coconut trees which could increase the income of the farmers. She also advised the farmers on maintenance and cleaning of the drip irrigation system which needs to be done on a regular basis to increase the life of the unit.
