Coimbatore : The Seed Certification and Organic Certification Department of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) conducted a training session for farmers at the University on March 1.

Hundreds of farmers across the State attended the state level training during which farmers were given training on national organic production program and organic certification standards. Earlier, Mathialagan, Director of Seed Certification and Organic Certification Department inaugurated the training session.

During the session, farmers were imparted knowledge on topics such as organic farming, nutrient management for organic crops, market opening for organic products and procedures in organic certification. Scholars, including the Deputy Director of District Seed Certification Department Selvarajan, Seed Research Associate Director Mohanasundaram delivered special addresses at the training. Certificates and guides were provided to the participants of the training session.
